Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE - A Parolee-at-large was detained by the residents of a home after he broke in while fleeing Sheriff’s deputies Saturday.
The as-of-yet unidentified suspect was taken into custody some time after 1:30 p.m. after he was pinned down by the residents in the 800 block of Melham Avenue. The suspect was initially sought for a home burglary, according to Lt. Chris Garcia of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. Deputies were called to the 800 block of Melham Avenue to instigate a burglary when the suspect saw them and fled. He soon found his way into the occupied home, which he forced his way into, Garcia said. The Industry Sheriff’s Station received a call from a resident who said the suspect broke into their home. As deputies arrived, the suspect began struggling with the residents who held him down until his arrest, according to Sheriff’s radio traffic. Booking information for the suspect was not yet available, Garcia said. |
