Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE - Deputies are searching for a suspect who wrote a threat against Nogales High School Monday.
The threat was discovered Monday December 10 as students were being let out at Nogales High School, 401 Nogales St. The threat, written in red ink, was found inscribed on the cement under the school sign near the parking lot on Nogales Street, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The suspect’s threat specified retaliation for being called “ugly” and spoke of shooting up the school on Monday, December 17 during fourth period. A suspect has yet to be identified or arrested. “The Industry Sheriff’s Station is working with us on the situation and will have an increased presence on campus,” according to Principal Yousef Nasouf. “I understand a version of this message is being shared and spread via social media. The safety of our students and staff is always our highest priority.” A stronger presence of deputies is being planned for December 17. “There will be an increased law enforcement presence on campus Dec. 17. The safety of our schools within our communities is paramount,” Schrader said. |
