Three Technicians Injured During La Puente Fireworks Show

LA PUENTE - A reported misfire injured three pyrotechnicians at a pre-Fourth of July celebration.

One pyrotechnician received serious injuries. Two others received minor injuries, according to a statement released by the city of La Puente.

The misfire occurred during the fireworks portion of the city’s Fortunato Jimenez Fireworks Show July 3.

Firefighters were sent to the show at La Puente Park, 501 N. Glendora Ave., just before 9:30 p.m.

“Our hearts are heavy as we share news about the La Puente’s Fortunate Jimenez Fireworks Show. One dedicated pyrotechnic technician was seriously injured due to a misfire and explosion. Two other technicians suffered minor injuries. We ask for your thoughts and support for their families during this challenging time,” according to the statement released by the City of La Puente.
