Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE - The victim of a shooting is undergoing surgery after being fired upon Saturday night.
The victim is uncooperative with deputies who are trying to identify a motive and suspect. The shooting reportedly occurred around 7:56 p.m. on Amar Road between Valinda Avenue and Hacienda Boulevard. “The victim drove himself to a local hospital. We met him there and he’s been completely uncooperative,” according to Lt. James Long of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. There is no suspect description. La Puente has been coping with a sharp increase in gun violence, which left three people dead and others injured. The most recent shooting occurred at a motel party at the Valley Inn, 13010 Valley Blvd., July 3. One man was injured by gunfire after a fistfight occurred. A man was found dead in an alleyway July 1 of an apparent gunshot wound in the 15400 block of Temple Avenue. One man died and another wounded in a June 30 shooting in the 400 block of Tonopah Avenue. Two men were injured, one fatally, in a shooting June 28 in the 100 block of North Winton Avenue. |
