Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA VERNE - Two suspects are being sought after surveillance cameras caught them burglarizing a liquor store February 23. Officers responded to Fairplex Liquor, 1922 Fairplex Dr., around 5 a.m. to a burglary alarm call and found the front glass door smashed, according to the La Verne Police Department. The suspects stole approximately $1,500 in merchandise, La Verne Police said. Anyone with information on the suspects is urged to call La Verne Police Detective A. Julian at 909-596-1913. “Farnsworth ... informed Officers that he was concealing a 16-inch machete in his waistband as well as a meth pipe in his pocket,” La Verne Police said. “The subject also had in his possession a trash bag, containing mail addressed to residents of the 6900 block of Wheeler Ave.” Surveillance video from a nearby residence and positive identification from a witness led to Farnsworth’s arrest and booking on theft, carrying a concealed dagger and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, which filed felony charges against Farnsworth, La Verne Police said. What became of the second person was not disclosed. |
