Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor MONROVIA - A woman was found dead, suffering from what homicide detectives described as traumatic injuries Monday night.
The woman was pronounced dead by Monrovia firefighters arriving to a medical emergency call in the 1000 block of Wildrose Avenue just after 9 p.m. February 8. In a previous statement, homicide detectives said the victim, only described as a white adult female, suffered from stab wounds and that a second woman was a possible suspect, but no mention of a suspect was made in a subsequent statement. The cause of death will be determined by a coroner examination, homicide detectives said. Deon Armstrong-Williams, 25, from Duarte and Trayvon Dixon, 21, from Azusa were arrested January 28. The case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office which filed murder charges against the suspects, according to the Monrovia Police Department. Antonio Zaza, 27, was gunned down inside of Al’s Liquor, 412 W. Duarte Rd., around 8:20 p.m. December 23. Zaza died of a gunshot wound to the torso at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Both Dixon and Williams are being held ahead of a scheduled appearance in Pasadena Superior Court February 8. |
