Officers responding to a call of gunfire in the 400 block of East Maple Avenue found a man suffering two gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Evidence from the shooting was recovered at the scene, according to the Monrovia Police Department. A motive remains unclear. The shooting took place at Recreation Park, 620 S. Shamrock Ave., around 7:20 p.m. November 6. The victim was taken to an area hospital to be treated, according to Monrovia Police Department Sgt. Kevin Oberon. The victim was wounded twice by gunfire. His injuries are considered not life-threatening, according to the Monrovia Police Department in a written statement. The attempted murder suspect remains at-large. A group of people had gathered at the park for some sort of an event. The focus of the gathering was not immediately clear, Oberon told SGV CityWatch. Evidence from the shooting was collected at the scene. A motive remains unclear, Monrovia Police said.
