The victim was reportedly knocked out during the robbery in the 900 block of East Huntington Drive. Officers were called to the scene at 9 p.m., according to the Monrovia Police Department. Employees of a nearby business called to report the crime. The suspect was not located. The unidentified suspect approached two people eating outside at a restaurant near South Myrtle Avenue and West Olive Avenue around 10:17 p.m. one week ago. The man appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance when he threatened the diners by raising his fist and demanded money, according to the Monrovia Police Department. “The victims ran from the suspect and he chased after them. They made it to their vehicle and locked the doors as the suspect was punching the door window,” Monrovia Police said in a written statement. After the suspect fled the area north on Myrtle Avenue, responding officers searched, eventually found the suspect and took him into custody after the victims positively identified him. He was allegedly heavily intoxicated and was booked on suspicion of robbery, Monrovia Police said. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor MONROVIA - Sheriff’s detectives are assisting the Monrovia Police Department after a domestic violence suspect took a woman against her will, authorities said. A 31-year-old woman was allegedly kidnapped by 27-year-old Robert Anthony Camou. The kidnapping was reported around 8:15 a.m. in the 600 block of Vaquero Road July 29, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Arriving Monrovia officers located evidence at the scene that an assault occurred at the home. The woman’s injuries are unclear. Camou and victim Amanda Kathleen Custer, are or have been dating and apparently have a history of domestic violence, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Custer was witnessed being placed in the rear hatch of a grey, four-door 2017 Toyota Prius with license plate 8AOR167.
Camou should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who knows either Custer’s or Camou’s whereabouts is urged to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor MONROVIA - The registered owner of a vehicle being repossessed was arrested July 13 after allegedly crashing into the truck being used to take the vehicle. The unidentified owner of the vehicle emerged from a home in the 100 block of West Central Avenue around 1:50 a.m. while her vehicle was being repossessed. She entered another vehicle and allegedly began attacking. “While a vehicle was being repossessed, the registered owner came out of her residence, entered another vehicle, and intentionally rammed into the truck that was repossessing her vehicle,” Monrovia Police said.
The suspect was arrested and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. |
