A 17-year-old male was arrested April upon his release from the Pasadena City jail April 15. Tanaj Johnson, 20, was arrested April 19 as he was released from the Pasadena jail on an unrelated charge. Christian Hall, 20, had been arrested May 23 by Pasadena Police Department on an unrelated charge and is being held without bail, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Darione Jones, 25, was murdered March 29 in the 100 block of East Los Angeles Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. Detectives with the Monrovia and Pasadena Police Departments aided Sheriff’s homicide investigators with identifying the suspects. The Eastlake District Attorney’s Office filed one count of murder against the teen with the allegation he personally used a firearm, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office Community Violence Reduction Division filed one count of murder against Tanaj Johnson April 21 with the allegation that he personally used a firearm and one count of animal cruelty because he shot a dog during the Monrovia shooting, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said. Johnson was also named a suspect in the February 14 shooting of a 10-year-old boy in Pasadena, Pasadena Police said. The DA’s Community Violence Reduction Division filed one count of murder against Christian Hall May 25 with the allegation he personally used a firearm, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said. Hall is being held without bail ahead an appearance in Pasadena Superior Court June 3. Johnson is being held in lieu of nearly $4 million bail ahead of a May 27 appearance in Pasadena Superior Court on a variety of charges. The shooting occurred in the 100 block of East Los Angeles Avenue. One person was fatally shot. He died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The shooting occurred around 5 p.m. January 29. Three possible suspects fled the area in a four-door Honda Civic, according to Monrovia Police radio traffic. Assisting Monrovia Police with a containment are the Arcadia and Sierra Madre police departments. Officers from the Monrovia Police Department arrived to the scene in the 400 block of West Duarte Road after being called to a shots fired report at 8:19 p.m. The man was found suffering a gunshot wound to the upper torso, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The time of death was pronounced at 8:26 p.m., according to Monrovia Police radio traffic. Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau arrived to take over the investigation and canvassed the area for witnesses and evidence. Investigators have not revealed the type of business the man was shot at. Monrovia officers have been in contact with the business owner who was called to the scene. The Hispanic woman in her 40s, along with her teen daughter, were found dead by Monrovia officers responding to a reported assault in the apartment unit in the 800 block of West Colorado Boulevard. The mother was pronounced dead at 1:48 p.m. The girl was pronounced dead at 1:50 p.m., according to Sarah Ardalani of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Autopsies are pending on both, which will publicly reveal the manner of death, which homicide detectives continue to keep hidden. The suspect, 33-year-old Nimrod Perez Guerrero, is still outstanding. Perez Guerrero has been identified as the on-again/off-again boyfriend of the mother. Monrovia Police received a transferred call originally placed with Alhambra Police of an assault that occurred in the apartment. Monrovia officers arrived and discovered an open window. Upon entering, they found both females dead. The girl was a senior at Monrovia High School, which is just across the street from where she was found dead. Fellow classmates of the girl arrived to the scene to mourn their friend. Monrovia Unified School District Superintendent Katherine Thorossian issued a statement Thursday: “It is with great sadness that I share that we have lost one of our Monrovia High School seniors and her mother.Our heartfelt prayers and thoughts go out to their family and friends. As we grapple with this tragic news, which will affect so many in our tight-knit community, I want to note upfront that counseling support will be offered on campus for our students and staff,” Thorossian said. Nimrod Perez Guerrero, 33, was identified as a suspect in the killing of the mother and daughter, whose bodies were discovered inside an apartment unit in the 800 block of West Colorado Avenue. Guerrero may be driving a grey, 2014 Toyota Rav4 with liens plate number 7FPB132. Guerrero is a Hispanic man, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. A clothing description was not available. Guerrero’s connection to the mother and daughter was not disclosed, nor the manner of death.
