Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor MONROVIA - A man was found wounded by gunfire at a business and died at the scene Wednesday night, investigators said.
Officers from the Monrovia Police Department arrived to the scene in the 400 block of West Duarte Road after being called to a shots fired report at 8:19 p.m. The man was found suffering a gunshot wound to the upper torso, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The time of death was pronounced at 8:26 p.m., according to Monrovia Police radio traffic. Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau arrived to take over the investigation and canvassed the area for witnesses and evidence. Investigators have not revealed the type of business the man was shot at. Monrovia officers have been in contact with the business owner who was called to the scene.
