The man was shot in one of his extremities in the 1700 block of South Mountain Avenue July 30 around 9:30 p.m. The victim drove himself from the scene and crashed near his home in the 400 block of Genoa Street, according to Sgt. John Donchig of the Monrovia Police Department. Officers initially responded to a traffic collision call on Genoa and discovered the driver was shot. The victim crashed into a curb. “We have one gunshot victim who was taken to a hospital. He is stable,” Donchig said. Officers recovered evidence related to the shooting, but Donchig did not know what was specifically recovered.
Donchig did not have any confirmation on suspect descriptions or a suspect vehicle and that the involvement of a second vehicle is unconfirmed. Anyone who witnessed the shooting should call the Monrovia Police Department at 626-256-8000. |
