An SUV and a car collided head on at Montebello Boulevard and Liberty Avenue around 9 p.m. October 28. One of the vehicles traveling south on Montebello Boulevard, for unknown reasons, veered into a northbound vehicle, according to the Montebello Police Department. Two occupants in one vehicle, Montebello man Jose Holguin, 22, and San Gabriel woman Nicole Brown, 26 died in one vehicle. The victim in the second vehicle has yet to be identified.

MONTEBELLO - A known East Los Angeles gang member is on the loose, accused of several armed robberies in four days, police said.
Investigators identified Daniel Joseph Macias, 22, as the man who robbed his victim with the use of a black revolver with a long barrel and skeleton ski mask. He is considered armed and dangerous, Montebello Police said.
The armed robberies occurred from October 19 to October 22, beginning with an incident in the parking lot of an apartment complex. A suspect wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and skeleton ski mask demanded his victim’s property and began pistol whipping her when she refused, Montebello Police said.
The suspect fled with the victim’s backpack, which contained her vehicle keys and other property. After leaving a hospital after the attack, the victim discovered her black 2009 Volkswagen SUV was taken, Montebello Police said. The SUV was then used in the commission of several other armed robberies. The SUV was eventually found by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies, abandoned October 24. Macias frequents Montebello, East Los Angeles and San Bernardino County. Macias is a Hispanic man, stands 5 feet 8 inches tall, has brown hair, brown eyes and weighs 150 to 160 pounds. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor MONTEBELLO - A man fled in a newer model, white Chevrolet Tahoe after robbing a car wash business at gunpoint Monday.
The robbery occurred at Cruizer’s Express Car Wash, 740 W. Washington Blvd., just after 2:30 p.m. The suspect took an estimated $2,000 in a black cash box from the business, according to a Montebello Police crime broadcast. The suspect is a Black man in his 30s or 40s, is heavyset, sported a full beard and mustache, wore a purple do rag and light-colored shirt, a Montebello Police officer said. The suspect had a black handgun. The Chevy Tahoe had no plates and was driven away north on Montebello Boulevard. |
