MONTEBELLO - A known East Los Angeles gang member is on the loose, accused of several armed robberies in four days, police said.
Investigators identified Daniel Joseph Macias, 22, as the man who robbed his victim with the use of a black revolver with a long barrel and skeleton ski mask. He is considered armed and dangerous, Montebello Police said.
The armed robberies occurred from October 19 to October 22, beginning with an incident in the parking lot of an apartment complex. A suspect wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and skeleton ski mask demanded his victim’s property and began pistol whipping her when she refused, Montebello Police said.
The suspect fled with the victim’s backpack, which contained her vehicle keys and other property. After leaving a hospital after the attack, the victim discovered her black 2009 Volkswagen SUV was taken, Montebello Police said. The SUV was then used in the commission of several other armed robberies. The SUV was eventually found by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies, abandoned October 24. Macias frequents Montebello, East Los Angeles and San Bernardino County. Macias is a Hispanic man, stands 5 feet 8 inches tall, has brown hair, brown eyes and weighs 150 to 160 pounds. Anyone who knows Macias’ whereabouts is urged to call Montebello Police Detective C. Adams at 323-887-1313 ext. 256. |
