Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor MONTEREY PARK - A man armed with an eight-inch blade took cash in an early-morning convenience store robbery April 9.
The robbery occurred in the 300 block of East Garvey Avenue at 3:40 a.m. The suspect entered the store and said “just give me the money.” The clerk, out of fear, opened the register and removed cash, Monterey Park Police said. The same suspect is believed to have robbed the same convenience store March 26 with possibly the same weapon, Monterey Park Police said. The suspect is a man, 5-foot-6 to 5 feet 8 inches tall, 120 to 150 pounds and has short dark hair. The suspect was caught on camera wearing a white baseball hat with a dark logo on the front, a dark hoodie and appears to be carrying a bag or backpack.
