The fire is burning at the restaurant, 622 S. Fair Oaks Ave., and was dispatched to firefighters at 9:44 p.m. A helicopter overhead reported to firefighters that smoke and flames were seen shooting from a roof vent, according to Pasadena Fire Department radio traffic. The flames may be contained to the vent alone, firefighters said. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor PASADENA - A male apparently jumped to his death, his body discovered by a passerby Friday morning underneath the Colorado Street Bridge. The body was found in the wash area beneath the bridge around 8:30 a.m. April 19. Shoes possibly belonging to the victim were found on the bridge, but a vehicle belonging to the victim was not found, according to Lisa Derderian, Pasadena public information officer. The victim’s identity will be revealed once next of kin has been notified. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor PASADENA - Alcohol, drugs and speed do not appear to be factors in a crash that critically injured a motorcyclist at Del Mar Boulevard and Madison Avenue April 9. The 35-year-old rider of a black 2011 Ducati motorcycle was west on Del Mar Boulevard around 9:30 a.m. The driver of a gray 2010 Hyundai Elantra sedan pulled out in front of the rider south across Del Mar from a Madison stop sign and was broadsided, according to preliminary information from Pasadena Police.
The 24-year-old female driver of the sedan remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The sedan’s driver may not have seen the rider traveling west and pulled out in front of him, Pasadena Police said. PASADENA - Firefighters are conducting a hazardous materials investigation in the 800 block of South Raymond Avenue. Police have South Raymond blocked from Fillmore Street to Glenarm Street, according to the Pasadena Police Department.
