PASADENA - A man and woman implicated in a shooting July 4 were taken into custody August 19 after being tracked to a San Dimas home, the Pasadena Police Department said.

Kimberly Ann Troncoso, 34 and Jay Aaron Castillo, 26, were arrested in San Dimas by detectives From the Pasadena Police Robbery/Homicide Unit. Detectives also confiscated evidence, including multiple firearms during the execution of a search warrant, according to the Pasadena Police Department.

The shooting took place around 12:30 a.m. July 4 and the 1300 block of Ridge Way. Officers responding to a shots fired call discovered evidence that an unknown number of suspects fired into an inhabited home. They also determined that no one was wounded in the shooting, according to the Pasadena Police Department.

Using investigative techniques, detectives determined that Troncoso and Castile, both San Dimas residents, were directly involved in the shooting.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed one felony charge each of shooting add a habit of dwelling against both suspects August 23.

Troncoso is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail. Castillo is being held in lieu of $260,000 bail, the Pasadena Police Department said.

Troncoso is being held at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Los Angeles, while Castillo is being held in Men’s Central Jail. Both are scheduled to appear in Pasadena Superior Court, Wednesday, August 25.

PASADENA - Police announced the arrest of a Victorville man whom they say shot an acquaintance in the neck July 29.

Robert Murray Jones lll, 20, was captured August 5 after officers in the Pasadena Police Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant at a Victorville home, according to the Pasadena Police Department.

Jones allegedly admitted to shooting the victim, said it was an accident.

Pasadena Police officers were dispatched to St. John Avenue and California Boulevard around 10:35 p.m. July 29 to a report of a man screaming that he had been shot, according to the Pasadena Police Department.

During a search of the area, police were notified by staff that a man with a gunshot wound to his neck was dropped off at Huntington Memorial Hospital, Pasadena Police said.

The victim was treated and is expected to recover.

After detectives with the Pasadena Police Violent Crimes Division identified the shooting scene in the 1900 block of Mentone Avenue, they also seized ballistic evidence, Pasadena Police said.

Felony charges against Jones were filed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office: assault with a deadly weapon and discharge of a firearm with gross negligence. Jones is being held on $235,000 bail, Pasadena Police said.
