A man in his 40s was found unresponsive on a sidewalk by arriving officers in the 2600 block of East Colorado Blvd. around 1:30 a.m. September 12, suffering from stab wounds to the torso. Despite life-saving efforts by Pasadena Firefighters, the man died later an a nearby hospital, Pasadena Police said. A second victim, a man in his 30s, was found with a knife sticking out of his leg. He is hospitalized in critical condition. The suspect and both victims were in a verbal fight with the suspect who left the bar, but returned a short time later armed with the knife. A passerby saw the attack and helped detain the suspect until officers arrived, Pasadena Police said. A motive remains unknown. The semi collided with a pickup truck in the No. 3 lane of traffic around 6:32 p.m. The big rig overturned and has reportedly caught fire in the right lane, according to CHP Traffic Logs. Passersby are attempting to extricate the driver of the semi. An Urban Search and Rescue team is en route to assist, according to the Pasadena Fire Department. Pasadena Police are advising drivers to avoid the westbound 210 freeway for the next two to three hours. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor LOS ANGELES - A body discovered near a Pasadena hiking trail where the car of a missing man was found has been identified.
James White, 63, was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. White was the missing man sought by Pasadena Police after disappearing August 9. White’s cause of death has been deferred, pending additional investigation. Pasadena Police volunteers found White’s dark green 2009 Toyota Camry parked near the casting club, 415 S. Arroyo Ave. August 14, according to the Pasadena Police Department. The body was found on a hiking trail by a searching Pasadena Police helicopter. The body was discovered about an hour later, said Pasadena Police lieutenant Marie Sell. Police knew White was still in the area after discovering he made a purchase at a Pasadena store during his disappearance, Sell said. Officers tracked White's phone to the general area August 9 where the body was discovered, but could not locate him after an extensive search, Sell said. Foul play was not suspected, Sell said. |
