Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor PASADENA - A $20,000 reward has been reinstated for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in a four-year-old murder. Robert Arthur Calderon, a 27-year-old Altadena man, was found dead in the 600 block of North Mentor Avenue December 18, 2015. He died from multiple gunshot wounds. A description of the suspect or suspects is either unknown or is not being released. The reward originally expired in April 2018. Pasadena Police Lieutenant Jesse Carrillo said the reward will hopefully reinvigorate witnesses to come forward.
“Our detective worked diligently in his efforts to bring the individual(s) responsible to justice, and unfortunately time and lack of cooperation became the challenge,” Carrillo said. Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to call the Pasadena Police Department at 626-744-4501, Pasadena Police Detective Jordan Ling at 626-744-4081, or L.A. Pasadena Fire Chief Bertral Washington ordered Red Flag Parking restrictions to start Friday, October 25 and will be in effect until further notice, officials said. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor PASADENA - A man wanted for allegedly leaving the scene of a crash that took the life of a pedestrian Sunday morning was arrested, Pasadena Police said. Higinio Arceo, 41, from Baldwin Park, was arrested and booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence and driving while unlicensed, Pasadena Police said. The pedestrian was struck near East Colorado Boulevard at North Madison Avenue around 3:15 p.m. October 6. A grey pickup truck was west on Colorado when it struck a man in his 30s, Pasadena Police said. Officers searching near the crash scene found a grey Chevy Silverado in an underground parking structure; front end damage was consistent with the deadly crash, Pasadena Police said.
Arceo was working at a nearby construction site and was confirmed as the truck’s registered owner by phone. He returned to the parking structure, was interviewed by police and was arrested, Pasadena Police said. Arceo was arrested at 6:55 a.m. He is being held in the Pasadena City jail in lieu of $160,000 bail, according to Los Angeles County booking records. |
