The collision between the vehicle and a metro A Line train occurred at East California Boulevard and South Raymond Avenue around 9:18 a.m. The driver of the vehicle, the only occupant inside, had to be extricated by Pasadena Firefighters. She was hospitalized with significant injuries, according to Lisa Derderian, public information officer for the city of Pasadena. Active Incident: Pasadena Fire and Pasadena Police are on scene at Raymond Avenue and California Boulevard for a Metro A-line train and vehicle collision. There is one patient requiring extrication. Traffic will be impacted in that area. Please avoid the area. The area where the collision occurred is normally heavily impacted with traffic on a normal day. Traffic in the surrounding area will continue to be very heavily impacted as an investigation continues, Derderian told SGV CityWatch. Right now, there is no metro train service between the Delmar station and South Pasadena station due to the collision. Bus bridges are being requested, according to the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Authorities are asking people to avoid a quarter-mile radius around Raymond Avenue and Del Mar Boulevard as police continue to work the scene. Police responded to the apartment complex, which is adjacent to the A Line Del Mar Station, on a reported shooting. A female victim was found unresponsive at the scene. Information on her current condition is not readily available, according to Lisa Derderian, Pasadena public information officer. There was no train service running to the Delmar station. Shuttle buses replace train service between Fillmore and Memorial Park, according to do you Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The stabbing victim was located at the Memorial Park Station for the Metro L Line after deputies received multiple 9-1-1 calls around 6:40 p.m. Thursday, June 23. Investigators are still trying to determine exactly where the stabbing took place, according to Ramon Montenegro, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Transit Services Bureau. The stabbing victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. Initially, investigators believe that the stabbing did not occur at the Memorial Park Station. “It’s still a really, really active investigation, so we really don’t know a lot about it. We requested video both from the station and from the train the individual was on,” Montenegro told SGV CityWatch. All Metro L Line trains are skipping the Memorial Park Station due to the investigation. A one-hour Sig Alert was issued at 5:56 p.m. April 6. The pedestrian was found just before 5:30 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol traffic logs. It is not yet clear how the pedestrian died. Officer Ramon Kendricks of the California Highway Patrol traffic Management Center could not yet confirm if the victim is a man, woman, nor the possible age range. Officers found three shooting victims just before 3 p.m. at the park, 363 E. Villa St., December 1. No suspect description is publicly available, although authorities believe a dark-colored sedan may be connected to the crime. Police asked the public to avoid the area of Villa Street, Parke Street and Los Robles Avenue during the investigation. The fire burned at 169 E. Washington Blvd. just before 2 p.m. Two first floor units were heavily damaged by fire and a second story unit was damaged by smoke, according to Lisa Derderian, City of Pasadena spokeswoman. The conditions of the mother and child were not divulged. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Pasadena curfew is expected to last until 5:30 a.m. Sunday. Officials stated in a mass email that any person found outside during the curfew is subject to arrest and prosecution. "On behalf of the Pasadena City Council, I support this proactive but necessary decision out of an abundance of caution for our community,” according to Pasadena Mayor Terry Tornek. Protests have devolved in the wake of the death of George Floyd while being pinned down by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. Chauvin has since been arrested in the death of Floyd. Protests have turned to destruction and looting of countless big name and “mom and pop” stores in most major U.S. cities. Los Angeles continues to burn as Los Angeles Police officers backed by the California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies try to maintain order. Just hours after denying the need for the National Guard, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti requested Governor Gavin Newsom to mobilize them. 500 National Guard troops will descend in less than 7 hours. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor PASADENA - Deputies are frantically searching for a stolen Lincoln Navigator hearse with a body in a casket taken from an Orthodox church in the unincorporated portion of Pasadena Wednesday night.
The navigator was stolen outside of Saint Anthony Greek Orthodox Church, 778 S. Rosemead Blvd., around 7:45 p.m. The driver stopped there to deliver one casket and reportedly left the hearse running. The vehicle and a second casket with a body were gone when the driver returned, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Deputies do not have a suspect description, nor was the hearse seen being driven away from the church, Koerner said. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has a brief message for the suspect or suspects who took the hearse: “ To the suspect(s) driving around in a Black Lincoln Navigator stolen from the 700 blk of Rosemead Bl ... Out of all the bad decisions you have made, at least make one good one & bring back the deceased person & casket inside the Navigator.” The black Lincoln navigator hearse has a license plate of 7ZDG618. A Sig Alert has been issued, with a closure of the HOV, No. 1, 2 and 3 lanes beginning at Rosemead Boulevard for two hours. PASADENA - All lanes of the westbound 210 freeway west of Madre Street except the No. 5 lane remain closed after a big rig hit the center divider and knocked debris across the Gold Line tracks. The crash occurred around 5:22 a.m. December 7. The semi hauling the empty trailer may have hit another vehicle before hitting the center divider, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP officers on scene are requesting to have Metropolitan Transportation Authority to shut down the Gold Line tracks. The CHP will be diverting westbound traffic off the freeway at Sierra Madre Villa. According to officers at the scene, approximately 30 gallons of diesel fuel has spilled onto the freeway. |
