CityWatch Editor PASADENA - The fast-moving Eaton Fire reportedly killed two people, the Los Angeles County Fire Department chief said Wednesday. As daylight broke and winds lessened somewhat, authorities have tallied 100 destroyed structures. More than 10,600 acres burned as firefighters struggled with containment, which is still at 0 percent. There are a high number of significant injuries. The cause of the two deaths are not yet known, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Chief Anthony Marrone. More than 500 personnel are battling the blaze. CityWatch Editor PASADENA - A teen girl said to be suffering an unspecified overdose was airlifted from Devil’s Gate Dam Thursday evening. The teen was stuck 100 feet over the side of an embankment near the 210 freeway and Linda Vista Avenue. She apparently was unable to move without help, according to the Pasadena Fire Department. First responders were called to the dam at 3:12 p.m. A rescue helicopter from the Los Angeles County Fire Department airlifted the teen to safety. No structures are threatened by the fire in the 2100 block of North Kinneloa Canyon Road July 11. As many as two helicopters and a number of ground crews were called to the fire, which was reported around 10:18 a.m. |
