Officers responding to a solo traffic collision on Angeles Crest at mile marker 28.36 found a crashed sedan around 3:21 a.m. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Los Angeles resident Jessie Munoz, died after attempts to revive him. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Pasadena Police Department. Robbery/Homicide units from the Pasadena Police Department believe robbery was the motive for the shooting. The incident unfolded in the 300 block of Villa Street around 9:46 p.m. January 16. Three men were standing outside a park in the area when a group of five males arrived in a sedan, exited the vehicle and confronted the three men, according to the Pasadena Police Department. After the confrontation, one of the males from the sedan stole a necklace from one of the three victims. As the five males reentered the sedan, one of them pulled out a handgun and opened fire, wounding one of the three victims in an arm and his back, according to the Pasadena Police Department. The 20-year-old wounded man was hospitalized. The suspects fled the scene. Steven Carlos Williams, a 43-year-old Duarte man, was identified at the man who robbed the restaurant February 3. Williams was reportedly already in custody, arrested by Sheriff’s deputies several days after the Roscoe’s robbery on an unrelated crime, according to the Pasadena Police Department. Williams is accused of taking food orders at gunpoint at the restaurant, 830 N. Lake Ave. Employees insisted that the suspect mask-up. The case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office February 26. Williams was officially charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of assault with a firearm. The robbery took place at Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles, 830 N. Lake Ave., around 5:40 p.m. The suspect and a second man entered the restaurant. An employee told the men to mask up and the suspect began arguing with them. He then brandished a handgun, according to the Pasadena Police Department. A second employee exited the kitchen and walked towards the suspect to see what the argument was about and the suspect than points of a hand gun at him. The suspect reportedly entered the kitchen and demanded that food be placed in a bag. Surveillance cameras captured the man leaving with a plateful of food. Four employees fled the restaurant. The suspect’s friend remained in the restaurant until the food was taken. Both men soon fled the location. The suspect is described as a Black man in his 30s or 40s. He has a thin build, hazel eyes, black curly hair and face tattoos. He wore a green sweatshirt and white sweatpants with black polka dots. The suspect’s friend is a Hispanic man with a shaved head. He stands around 5 feet 5 inches tall, has a shaved head, weighs around 150 pounds and wore a blue jacket and blue mask. The woman was assaulted and robbed in the 1500 block of Fair Oaks Avenue around 2:35 a.m. August 14, according to the Pasadena Police Department. The woman was walking home from work. The suspect walked past the victim and then grabbed on her shoulder bag to take it from her. The force caused a woman to fall backwards and receive significant injuries, Pasadena Police said. The suspect then struck the woman in the face as she continued to hold onto her shoulder bag. She eventually let go after being hit, Pasadena Police said. The victim describe the suspect as a 40-year-old black man. He stands 6 feet tall, weighs 200 pounds And wore a black polo shirt and gray pants at the time of the robbery. The suspect entered the Macy’s and approached the jewelry department, 401 S. Lake Ave., just after 7 p.m. The suspect acted as if he was about to make some purchases. As the items were being scanned, the suspect pulled out a silver handgun, according to the Pasadena Police Department. The suspect demanded the items be placed in a black bag. The employee complied out of fear and the suspect fled the store. The estimated loss is $6,000. It is unknown if the suspect had any accomplices or fled in a vehicle. The suspect is a Black man, possibly in his 20s, is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 155 pounds, has black hair in a bun and wore a white and pink striped shirt and red bandana on his head. The teen was distracted by the first suspect, who knocked on the door and asked for directions in the 2800 block of Thorndike Road around 7:09 p.m. As the teen assisted the first suspect, the three others pried their way in through a rear door, Pasadena Police said. The first suspect revealed a handgun while the three others ransacked the home for several minutes, Pasadena Police said. The four suspects fled with an unknown loss. All four suspects are Black men in their 20s and all wore dark clothing. One of the suspects hit the victim with what was described as the butt of a handgun after the suspect pried open a rear sliding glass door to the home August 12. A second victim, a 79-year-old woman, pointed the suspects to where cash was stashed before they ransacked the home, Pasadena Police said. The men pried their way in to the home in the 2100 block of Bridgen Road around 9:26 p.m. The male victim crouched down after being pistol-whipped. He only received minor injuries and was briefly hospitalized, Pasadena Police said. The unidentified suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The Suspects somehow entered the home just after 2 a.m. and began attacking their 25-year-old victim and demanded property from him. The suspects fled with cellphones, a computer and money, Pasadena Police said. Also in the home was the victim’s girlfriend. The victim and his girlfriend arrived home 90 minutes before the attack occurred. The girlfriend was asleep and awoke to the loud commotion, Pasadena Police said. Before leaving, one of the suspects struck the victim in the head with the butt of his gun. Both suspects were armed with handguns. One of the suspects was also armed with a knife. The victim is expected to survive his injuries, Pasadena Police said. Initially, the victim only described one suspect at the scene, a man in black clothing with a bandana across his face, Pasadena Police said. The woman first entered the bank and made small talk with a teller at the U.S. Bank branch, 2355 E. Colorado Blvd., before leaving. When she returned 15 minutes later around 1:30 p.m., she then claimed to have a bomb and demanded cash from the teller, Pasadena Police said. The teller relinquished an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled the bank. The suspect is in her 50s or 60s, about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. She wore a light-colored baseball hat, dark sunglasses a grey-colored hoodie, black gloves and black shorts.
