Ricky Washington, 33, and Tychanique Tyera Bluitt, 30, were both arrested during a traffic stop at Parcels Street and Monterey Avenue just before 1 a.m. June 29. Officers stopped Washington after he allegedly failed to make complete stops at two stop signs. Both he and Bluitt complied with police and exited the vehicle after officers discovered Washington was driving with a suspended license. The weapons were found during a search. “Officers found that there were two young children in the vehicle as well. Based on Washington’s driver’s license status, Officers searched the vehicle and found two loaded, unregistered firearms at the feat of the two infant children. Washington was found to be a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms,” according to the Pomona Police Department in a written statement. Washington, a Lancaster resident, and Bluitt, a Victorville resident, were arrested. Amongst the charges include possession of a loaded/unregistered firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a large-capacity magazine, concealing a firearm within a vehicle and child endangerment. Officers responded to the area of East Third Street and South Locust Avenue around 3:30 a.m. June 19 on a report of two gunshot victims. Los Angeles County Firefighters also responded, treated the wounded men and took them to a hospital. “One victim was admitted in critical condition and the other victim is currently stable,” according to the Pomona Police Department in a written statement Sunday morning. An updated condition for each man was not readily available. The Pomona Police Department Major Crimes Task Force is investigating. The broken container was discovered June 6 around 2 p.m. by Pomona Police officers. Taken were several bicycles, Disney toys, Lego sets and Supreme bags, according to the Pomona Police Department. The stolen donations were given by community partners, or were purchased with funds donated to the Pomona Police Department Community Programs Unit. “The Pomona Police Department Community Services Unit works year-round soliciting donations and fundraising to provide Christmas joy to families that would otherwise go without during the holiday season,” according to the Pomona Police Department in a written statement.
