The scene unfolded at Towne and Harrison avenues before 1:30 p.m. Officers responded to multiple calls of a traffic collision. As officers were arriving, callers began reporting hearing gunfire, according to the Pomona and Claremont Police departments. The victim is in stable condition. Witnesses saw three men, one of them armed, fleeing north from a crashed vehicle on Towne Avenue. All three suspects were found in the area of East Grove Street and Mural Drive. One fled while two were arrested, Claremont Police said. A perimeter search after the running suspect eluded police. Pomona and Claremont officers set up a perimeter search and with the help of a K9 search team, the remaining suspect was found quite a distance away in a yard in the 300 block of Fanshaw Avenue, Claremont Police said. The shooting victim was found nearby on Jayson Court, Claremont Police said. Officers combed the area near the collision and shooting, finally locating three firearms connected to the shooting. Arrested were: Samuel Williams, 42 Years Old, from Victorville Deante Williams, 25 Years Old, from Los Angeles Malik Slayton, 19 Years Old, from Victorville All men were booked on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm. A man was found with serious injuries after being shot near Harrison Avenue and North Towne Avenue Wednesday afternoon. The man’s current condition is unknown. Officers are searching the area for any suspects or witnesses, Pomona Police said in a written statement. Los Angeles County Firefighters were dispatched to Towne and Harrison at 1:26 p.m. regarding a traffic collision, but it is unclear if the call for service and the shooting are connected. Trevor Stevenson nearly lost his life after he was struck by an alleged DUI driver in Pomona January 10, 2017 at Garey and Garfield avenues. Stevenson was responding to a fatal hit and run crash when he was hit, Pomona Police said. Stevenson suffered major head trauma in the crash. Pomona man Pearce Bruyn, 24, the accused DUI driver, was allegedly high on marijuana when he struck Stevenson with a Ford Explorer. Bruyn stopped at the scene after the collision, according to the California Highway Patrol. Bruyn was south on Garey Avenue and turned into Stevenson’s path from the left turn lane to Garfield Avenue. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed a felony warrant for Bruyn’s arrest and he was taken into custody January 17, 2018, the CHP said. Bruyn was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of a drug, causing serious injuries. Bruyn is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Pomona Superior Court August 28. Two counts of premeditated murder were filed against Christopher Peterson, 40, by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Peterson was scheduled to appear in Pomona Superior Court Thursday, August 16. Officers responding to a call of shooting victims around 4:31 a.m. August 12 discovered two men suffering gunshot wounds in the 100 block of East Second Street, Pomona Police said. One of the victims was identified as 37-year-old Pomona man Robert Salinas. The second victim was identified as 32-year-old Jeremy Henness. Peterson reportedly told Ontario Police that he was involved in the double shooting. Pomona officers arrived to an address in the 1000 block of Berkeley Court and with the help of Ontario officers took Peterson into custody. Officers searched the area around his home and recovered a possible murder weapon, Pomona Police said. “Homicide Detectives investigation revealed sufficient evidence to book the suspect for two counts of murder,” Pomona Police said in a written statement. Peterson is being held without bail. Christopher Peterson, 40, was taken into custody by Pomona Police after he alerted authorities to his involvement in the double shooting that took place in the 100 block of East Second Street, according to the Pomona Police Department. Peterson was arrested at 9:33 a.m. and booked at the Pomona Police Department at 12:17 p.m., according to Los Angeles County booking records. Officers responding to a call of shooting victims around 4:31 a.m. discovered two men suffering gunshot wounds, Pomona Police said. One of the victims was identified as 37-year-old Pomona man Robert Salinas. The second victim has yet to be identified. Officers were notified of the crash around 3:37 a.m. at Humane Way and Pomona Boulevard at the Union Pacific railroad tracks, according to Pomona Police. Union Pacific Police, Los Angeles County Firefighters and Pomona Police extensively searched the railroad tracks around where dispatchers were told where the collision occurred and found the body near the collision scene, Pomona Police said. An unoccupied vehicle was found on the railroad tracks and Union Pacific Police are trying to determine who the vehicle belongs to. The incident is being investigated by Union Pacific Police and Pomona Police. Police arrived to the home in the 1600 block of Westwood Place and discovered panicked family members surrounding the drowned child. Foregoing the arrival of firefighters, officers took the child to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, Pomona Police said. The incident was reported around 6:21 p.m. A Pomona Police sergeant drove the patrol vehicle with emergency lights and sirens while an officer performed life-saving measures on the child in the rear of the vehicle, Pomona Police said. Waiting medical staff took the child, who was not breathing, for further medical attention. Police responded to the 1100 block of East Phillips Boulevard just before 10:30 p.m. and discovered one man suffering multiple stab wounds. Minutes later, a second man was found in the 1500 block of South San Antonio Avenue with similar wounds, Pomona Police said. A motive for the stabbing is unknown.
