POMONA - A dispensary that was a frequent problem was shut down Monday morning, Pomona Police said.
The dispensary at 1635 N. Garvey Ave., was shut down by the Pomona Police Special Investigations Unit with the assistance of the Department of Consumer Affairs - Cannabis Enforcement Unit. The dispensary was operating without a permit and was the focus of numerous complaints, Pomona Police said.
“This location refused to comply with the city’s request to cease the illegal activity,” Pomona Police said in a written statement.
More than 22 pounds of marijuana and more than 235 pounds of marijuana product were seized, along with heroin and cocaine, Pomona Police said.
“Although the use of marijuana is legal in the State of California, the sales of Marijuana are illegal within city limits,” Pomona Police said. “These investigations are sensitive and all efforts to stop the activities are exhausted before Police action is taken.”
The location was deemed uninhabitable and was "red tagged."
Police have not identified any suspects and it is unclear if suspects have been arrested.
