Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor POMONA - Three men were arrested Wednesday after a traffic collision and shooting, the latter which left a man with serious injuries.
The scene unfolded at Towne and Harrison avenues before 1:30 p.m. Officers responded to multiple calls of a traffic collision. As officers were arriving, callers began reporting hearing gunfire, according to the Pomona and Claremont Police departments. The victim is in stable condition. Witnesses saw three men, one of them armed, fleeing north from a crashed vehicle on Towne Avenue. All three suspects were found in the area of East Grove Street and Mural Drive. One fled while two were arrested, Claremont Police said. A perimeter search after the running suspect eluded police. Pomona and Claremont officers set up a perimeter search and with the help of a K9 search team, the remaining suspect was found quite a distance away in a yard in the 300 block of Fanshaw Avenue, Claremont Police said. The shooting victim was found nearby on Jayson Court, Claremont Police said. Officers combed the area near the collision and shooting, finally locating three firearms connected to the shooting. Arrested were: Samuel Williams, 42 Years Old, from Victorville Deante Williams, 25 Years Old, from Los Angeles Malik Slayton, 19 Years Old, from Victorville All men were booked on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
