Pamela Cross was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. The cause of death has been deferred pending additional investigation. Cross was declared dead Sunday afternoon in a medical building parking lot at 50 Alessandro Pl. “She looks to have been the victim of an assault,” said Lt. Mark Goodman of the Pasadena Police Department. “We are investigating as a possible homicide.”
Goodman declined to disclose the nature of the injuries. There is no suspect description at this time. Azusa resident Oscar Carmona, 22, was identified by Lt. Larry Dietz of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. San Dimas deputies were initially called to an injured victim in the 18000 block of Newburgh Street June 1 around 11:15 p.m. Carmona, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor REGION - The man and woman sought in a Carson homicide and the woman’s teen daughter are still missing after their 2013 BMW turned up abandoned in San Diego Friday. Maricela Mercado, 40, and Roman Cerratos, 39, are wanted by homicide detectives in a murder after a man was found dead behind the wheel in Carson April 16. Mercado’s 15-year-old daughter, Alora Benitez, was seen leaving with the two suspects soon after the murder, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. San Diego Police recovered the abandoned BMW, Sheriff’s deputies said. The suspect’s are considered armed and dangerous.
Benitez was last seen around 9 a.m. April 17 as she, Mercado and Cerratos left their Torrance home. A man was found dead in the front seat of a white Audi parked in the 400 block of East Carson Plaza Drive in Carson April 16. Benitez is 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 100 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LOS ANGELES - A case in the homicide of 9-year-old Trinity Love Jones was presented to the DA’s office Monday. The case is under review, according to Greg Risling of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. It is unclear when charges are expected to be formally filed. Risling did not confirm the name of a possible suspect, Emiel Lamar Hunt, 38. Hunt was taken into custody March 9 and booked at the Sheriff’s Norwalk Station. He is being held in lieu of $2 million bail. Hunt is reportedly in a relationship with Trinity’s birth mother Trinity’s father, Antonio Jones, posted on his Facebook page an image of Hunt and stated “This is the boyfriend of my baby momma who murdered my youngest princess.” The identity of the second suspect detained has also not been officially released. Jones’ name was released due to overwhelming media interest and news tips from the public. While the girl’s death was ruled a homicide, the manner in which she died is being withheld, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Two people have been detained, but their names have not been released. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LOS ANGELES - Detectives released a composite sketch of the girl found partially stuffed in a duffle bag and dumped near the edge of Hacienda Boulevard in Hacienda Heights Tuesday. The girl is now estimated to be between 8 to 13 years old, stood 4 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 55 pounds. Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau also publicized photos of the actual clothing the girl was wearing when she was discovered. No one has come forward with any information regarding the child’s parents, or if anyone saw suspicious activity in the days before the child was discovered.
The upper portion of the girl’s body was partially exposed when she was discovered before 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5.
“These are the hardest cases to handle -- anything involving a child. This is very sad,” Hoglund said. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the nearby area to see any suspicious persons or vehicles nearby. It is unclear if the girl’s disappearance is tied to any missing children cases, either in the county, in the state or outside California. Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau will also provide additional details and display real photos of the girl’s clothing in an effort to help identify her. A Black girl estimated between 7 and 10 years old was found dead near Hacienda Boulevard and South Glenmark Drive Tuesday around 9:55 a.m.
The girl was there for roughly 24 hours before being discovered, according to Homicide detectives. The cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Monica Ann Dominguez, 52, and Michael John Rivera, 62, were identified by Sarah Ardalani, public information officer with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Rivera is the allegedly gunman. Ardalani listed Rivera as the reported suicide case. Dominguez is listed as the reported homicide.
Covina Police were called to the home in the 200 block of East Center Street around 4:46 p.m. February 13 to a call of a domestic fight an the sound of gunfire from a locked room in the apartment unit. Three adopted juveniles, grandchildren of one of the suspects, were inside the apartment when gunfire rang out. The juveniles were found safe at a neighbor’s home. Police discovered the bodies after breaching the locked door to the room. A handgun was recovered at the scene. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LOS ANGELES – The County DA has filed one count of murder Wednesday against the woman who allegedly stabbed her own son multiple times in a Covina townhouse. Xa Dinh Ngo, also known as Michelle Ngo, 39, faces one count of murder with a special allegation that she personally used a deadly and dangerous weapon, a knife, according to Spokeswman Venusse Navid of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Ngo is scheduled for arraignment in Pomona Superior Court. She faces 26 years to life in state prison if convicted as charged. Ngo is accused of stabbing her toddler son, 2-year-old Alvis Puentes, on the second floor of their Covina townhome at 141 E. Italia St. January 11 around 3:30 a.m.
A Covina Police sergeant on patrol found a partially-clothed Ngo running down the road in the 300 block of North Second Avenue. Ngo tried to flee from officers, but was ultimately detained and found with blood splattered on her body. She alluded to a possible victim somewhere in town, but refused to speak further, Covina Police said. After Ngo was hospitalized, police learned her address, arrived to the location and found a small fire burning inside, Covina Police said. Police entered the home and discovered Puentes’ body. Ngo is scheduled for arraignment in Pomona Superior Court. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LOS ANGELES – Both victims killed in an Azusa triple shooting January 8 were named Thursday. Mario Ramirez, 28, and Daniel Isaac Zeledon, 15, both from Azusa, were identified by Sarah Ardalani, public information officer with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Although both struck by gunfire, autopsies have yet to be scheduled for Zeledon and Ramirez to determine the exact cause of death. Azusa Police officers found Zeledon and Ramirez dead after responding to a call of a gunshot victim in the 600 block of East 6th Street at 10:12 p.m. Tuesday. An additional victim was also found near the scene. He was later hospitalized and is expected to survive his injuries, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Homicide detectives initially believed that Zeledon was an intended target.
“We believed the individual initially shot was the intended target, but we haven’t confirmed that yet,” according to Lt. Charles Calderaro of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau.
A motive for the shooting is either unknown or was not disclosed. The surviving suspect has not been charged with a crime yet, Calderaro said. An unknown subject shot at the fleeing suspects after they opened fire.
