Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ROSEMEAD - An armed suspect fled in a 2014 blue Honda Civic after taking it from a driver, deputies said November 18.
The victim was reportedly carjacked in the 3100 block of San Gabriel Boulevard around 7:45 p.m. As the suspect was beginning to flee, he reportedly fired one gunshot into the air, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. A cell phone was also stolen during the carjacking, deputies said. The suspect fled in the blue Honda Civic towards Garvey Avenue where he turned west, deputies said. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his 20s. He wore a face mask, a blue shirt and pants. The call was dispatched to firefighters around 3:51 a.m. in the 2400 block of Gladys Avenue. Flames were seen coming from the detached garage. The fire was extinguished around 4:18 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Arson investigators were sent to determine the cause. |
