Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ROSEMEAD - Two armed men robbed their victim of a backpack containing $40,000 in cash Saturday night. The robbery occurred around 7:45 p.m. in the area of Rosemead Boulevard and Marshall Street. The victim was parked along the street and gave up the backpack when ordered by the armed suspects, according to Lt. Wargo of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. It is unclear if the suspects knew their victim, or the victim was targeted before being robbed.
The victim chased the suspects as they fled in a grey car onto the westbound I-10 freeway into Los Angeles. The victim lost sight of the suspects in the area of Soto Street, according to Sheriff’s radio traffic. It was either unclear, or not disclosed why the victim had $40,000 in a backpack. The suspects are described as possibly two Hispanic men, Wargo said. Get the email Newsletter! | Advertise! | Donate! |
