Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ROWLAND HEIGHTS - A suspected stolen vehicle suspect was jailed September 20 after reportedly striking a deputy’s patrol car repeatedly during a pursuit. The unidentified suspect fled a deputy who tried to pull him over on suspicion of reckless DUI driving during the early-morning hours. The suspect fled at high speed, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. “As the deputy was pursuing the vehicle, the driver made a U-turn, headed straight at the pursuing deputy’s vehicle and rammed into the patrol car multiple times,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
The suspect fled on foot after striking two parked vehicles, but was found and arrested after a search. The deputy was treated at the scene. The suspect was booked on suspicion of evading a peace officer, assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer and reasonable cause, stolen vehicle. |
