The body was discovered around 6:20 a.m. near a bench at the park, 18500 Farjado St., according to Sgt. Chahine of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Park Bureau. The body of an Asian man roughly in his 40s was found, a belt tied around his neck. Deputies have taped off the crime scene. Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are en route to take over the case, Chahine said. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ROWLAND HEIGHTS - Firefighters are investigating the cause of a large fire November 4 that gutted several strip mall businesses, including a veterinary clinic, killing at least six dogs. The fire was reported around 3:52 a.m. in the 18700 block of Colima Road. Firefighters requested a second-alarm response for more units to fight the spreading flames, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Three other businesses in the strip mall, in addition to the Colima Animal Hospital, were destroyed. Nearby mobile homes were evacuated as a precaution. No people were injured in the fire. |
