The teens were located in San Dimas Monday, April 8. Witness statements, physical evidence, surveillance video and statements from the teens themselves connected the suspects to the crimes, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. A 14-year-old from Long Beach, a 13-year-old from Covina and a 13-year-old from Hemet were identified. Their names are being withheld because they are juveniles, the Sheriff’s Department said.
An additional swastika was burned on the roadway in the 1200 block of Stratford Lane in San Dimas Sunday, April 7 -- roughly three days after similar vandalisms were discovered on the roadway at Valley Center Avenue and on synthetic lawn in the 1400 block of Greenhaven Street. Detectives investigating the vandalism learned the suspects were seen in the area late at night during the time frame the crimes occurred. “No motive for these acts was yet discovered, but the investigation indicates the acts of hate, arson and vandalism were not directed at any particular person(s),” according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in a written statement. All three teens are housed in a juvenile detention facility. A search warrant was served April 8 to find additional evidence.
