Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SAN DIMAS - A juvenile has been detained as deputies continue to investigate a threat of gun violence against San Dimas High School Thursday.
Detectives contacted and detained the juvenile around 6:30 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. “The investigation is continuing and the LASD does not have evidence of any credible threat to the campus or students at this time. We will continue our diligence in the protection of our community and schools. Bonita Unified School District,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a written statement. Deputies began investigating the threat after it was reported around 7 p.m. November 7, according to Lt. Ashrafmia of the San Dimas Sheriff’s Station. A copy of the message shared with SGV CityWatch was sent via text message around 4:37 p.m. An unknown subject sent an undisclosed initial text to which someone responded “do I know you?” The unknown subject responded “no, but ima shoot up san dimas high tomorrow.” It is unclear if the message was shared over social media platforms. The lieutenant refused to divulge if the threat was made over other platforms, citing the ongoing investigation. Classes remained in session at San Dimas High School with extra deputies on campus, according to a message sent by the Bonita Unified School District. |
