San Dimas Sword Attack Suspect Due in Court

LOS ANGELES - The sword-wielding suspect accused of killing her wife and severely injuring her mother-in-law is expected in court Friday.

Weichien Huang, 44, was booked on suspicion of murder. She is reportedly still being held in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s San Dimas Station jail, according to Los Angeles County booking records.

A reported argument between Huang and her wife, 47-year-old Chen Chen Fei, led to Huang to allegedly murder her spouse. Huang allegedly attacked and severely injured her mother-in-law who wrestled the sword away, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The mother-in-law fled the house, sword in hand and bleeding profusely, and attempted to flag down help when deputies arrived.

Fei died from multiple sharp force injuries in the home, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

Fei’s mother remains hospitalized in stable condition.
