Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SAN GABRIEL – An early-morning shooting July 17 left a man in his 20s hospitalized, the San Gabriel Police Department said.
Officers were dispatched to reports of gunfire and the sounds of screaming in the 800 block of Santa Fe Avenue. The man was found with a gunshot wound to the upper torso, according to the San Gabriel Police Department. In a statement shared July 21, the man was listed in critical, but stable condition. “Based on preliminary information, we believe that the victim was possibly targeted by one unknown suspect and that there is no ongoing threat to public safety,” according to the San Gabriel Police Department in a written statement. The suspect was described as a bald white man driving a blue or grey Toyota Camry. An Asian female reportedly was his passenger.
