Semi Crashes onto Metrolink Tracks in San Gabriel

SAN GABRIEL - Both express lanes and the No. 1 and 2 lanes of the westbound I-10 Freeway just east of Del Mar Avenue remain closed after a destructive crash.

A semi truck crashed through the center divider, destroying at least 30 feet of the concrete barrier. The semi landed on the Metrolink tracks, forcing the stoppage of all trains, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 3:13 a.m.

The semi driver was able to escape the truck, but it is unclear if he suffered any injuries.

The semi was not hauling any trailers. No other vehicles were involved.
