Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor SAN MARINO – Police and firefighters arrived to extinguish a truck fire and learned a man burned to death inside Monday morning.
The man found burned to death in the black Toyota truck around 8:39 a.m. allegedly drove to his former employer’s home and intentionally rammed her vehicle as she was attempting to leave, according to Sgt. Tim Tebbetts of the San Marino Police Department. The attack and death occurred in the 1600 block of Shenandoah Road. As the investigation began, the former employer just arrived to the San Marino Police Department after escaping the attack and reported the incident, Tebbetts said. “Witnesses stated after the victim left the scene, they saw the suspect pour a liquid substance over him and the vehicle. The suspect then ignited himself inside the vehicle,” Tebbetts said. Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call San Marino Police Detective Qureshi at 626-300-0726. Shenandoah is closed from Monterey Road and Huntington Drive to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic, San Marino Police said in a written statement. There is no threat to the public. Police have yet to return a request for additional information. |
