Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SAN MARINO - Two 17-year-old drivers were arrested July 4 accused of taking part in a brief street race that killed a man walking his dog. The crash occurred around 10:38 a.m. Thursday on Huntington Drive near Kenilworth Avenue. The westbound vehicles were racing when a white Mercedes was struck by the other racing car, cut across lanes of traffic and hit the man and dog on a median, according to San Marino Fire and San Marino Police.
The man was tossed 30 feet. The dog was sent 60 feet. Both died at the scene, San Marino Police said. The girlfriend of the man killed was about 100 feet behind and witnessed the crash. Both teen drivers are accused of vehicular manslaughter an are being held in juvenile hall. |
