Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SAN MARINO - A man is recovering with non-life-threatening injuries after allegedly shooting himself accidentally during a road rage incident that occurred Sunday morning. The driver of a Subaru accidentally shot himself in the chest during the argument just after 8:30 a.m. September 22 in the area of San Gabriel Boulevard and and Duarte Road, San Marino Police said. The man who accidentally shot himself was reportedly driving erratically, drawing the ire of a man behind the wheel of a Mercedes, according to San Marino Police. The two began arguing when the Mercedes driver pulled alongside the Subaru and motioned the driver to roll down his window. The latter somehow was shot in the chest.
Both KTLA and KNX1070 News Radio have apparently confirmed that the man shot is an Alhambra Police officer. Both San Marino Police and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department declined to state if the injured man is with Alhambra Police. Investigators with the Alhambra Police Department were witnessed at the scene of the shooting. |
