Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SAN MARINO - One suspect was caught, a second is still at-large after eluding San Marino Police in a carjacked vehicle Thursday.
The minutes-long chase ended after the driver gave officers the fade in San Gabriel in the 800 block of Valley Boulevard. The vehicle was located and San Gabriel Police officers ran after a male suspect who tried to elude police again, according to the San Marino Police Department. An automated license plate reader notified officers of the carjacked vehicle near San Gabriel Boulevard and California Boulevard just after 9 a.m. March 16. The vehicle, taken from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station patrol area a day prior, was located and stopped near Hermosa Avenue and San Gabriel Boulevard. The driver took off in the vehicle, according to the San Marino Police Department. An eye witness saw two suspects run after the chase ended. “An eyewitness reported seeing a male subject in a white shirt and a female subject in a white shirt exit the vehicle and run west through the rear parking lot and over a wall,” according to the San Marino Police Department in a written statement. The female suspect is still at-large. |
