Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station responded to the 2600 block of Rosemead Boulevard responded to calls around 8:41 a.m. of a man with a bloody face and wielding a knife. The man was attempting to enter passing vehicles, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The man fled into a nearby trailer park when deputies arrived. Deputies ordered the man to drop his knife, but he refused and held it over his head. he began advancing aggressively towards deputies and told them to shoot him, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said. The man was struck twice by gunfire. No deputies were injured and the knife was recovered at the scene. The 500 containers housed an unknown substance initially believed to be flammable, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
