The scene unfolded inside a home in the 500 block of Five Oaks Drive November 28 just before 10 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a broken front window and screaming inside the home. Upon entering through the window, they found a man stabbed and beaten, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. A golf club was used to stop the publicly-unnamed suspect, only described as a white man in his 40s. “Under further investigation it was determined that the male adult broke into the residence and attacked his estranged girlfriend. While the suspect was in the processes of beating and choking the female victim, her mother and adult sister came to her aid,” according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Police initially had trouble locating the residence through the phone call, believing the call was coming from a residence on nearby Grand Avenue. Pasadena Police also received a call coming from the 500 block of Five Oaks Drive, according to South Pasadena Police radio traffic. The caller told dispatchers that someone was trying to kill her daughter. After officers arrived, they announced the suspect was detained. Medics were summoned for the suspect’s stab wound to an arm. After paramedics arrived, a South Pasadena officer said the suspect was deceased. The estranged girlfriend was briefly hospitalized for facial injuries. |
