CityWatch Editor SOUTH PASADENA - A police vehicle was damaged by a man who allegedly caused damage to multiple other vehicles November 16. Witnesses reported a man who shattered windows to four parked vehicles in the 1400 block of Huntington Drive around 2:20 p.m. Officers located the man in the 1900 block of Marengo Avenue and he became agitated when he was contacted, according to the South Pasadena Police Department. “He threw numerous objects at the officers, including bottles of alcohol and large landscape rocks. One of the rocks damaged the windshield of a patrol vehicle as an officer was arriving on scene,” according to the South Pasadena Police Department in a written statement. The man was subdued using “less lethal” devices, according to the South Pasadena Police Department. Norberto Sanchez, a 28-year-old transient, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer and felony vandalism. He was taken to Alhambra City Jail for housing and booking. An initial appearance was made in Alhambra Superior Court November 19.
