Few details are available, but the shooting reportedly took place at North Backton Avenue and Gemini Street January 9. A suspect allegedly fired at an intended victim after stating “you’re in my hood.” A vehicle was struck by several rounds of gunfire from a semi-automatic weapon, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s crime broadcast. It is unclear if anyone was hit by gunfire. A watch sergeant at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station deferred questions to the Sheriffs Information Bureau. The Information Bureau stated that they were not informed of the incident and that the Information Bureau would not have details unless the shooting was a homicide. It is unclear if a suspect was identified and/or taken into custody. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SOUTH SAN JOSE HILLS - Beef between rival gangs likely led to two men being stabbed during a fight in the unincorporated South San Jose Hills area. The stabbing took place around at South Azusa Avenue and Salais Street just before 4:30 p.m. Two men from the same gang were stabbed. They were transported to a local hospital and were listed in stable condition, according to Sgt. Hassan Itani of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s industry Station.
The rival gang members escaped in an unknown vehicle. The injured men were uncooperative. “We are trying to figure out exactly what happened, so we don’t know who the gang members are,” Itani told SGV CityWatch. |
