A blue Nissan Altima was seen fleeing the scene near Gemini Street and North Winton Avenue at 10:30 p.m., according to Lt. Chris Garcia of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station.
The shooting victims were taken to a trauma center. Their conditions were not immediately known. A suspect description was not known. The suspect was hiding in a home, but it is unclear if he is a resident there. The suspect emerged from the home with his hands behind his head and surrendered without further incident. SOUTH SAN JOSE HILLS - A carjacking suspect is still hiding from deputies after running at the end of a brief pursuit Friday morning. Deputies are searching for the carjacking suspect on Renault Street near La Seda Road, according to Lt. Rick Rector of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station.
The search for the suspect began sometime before 8 a.m., according to witnesses near the scene. Nearby schools, including Yorbita Elementary School, are on lockdown. The suspect, only described as a male Hispanic adult, may be hiding in a home and deputies are performing announcements over a loud speaker to get him to surrender. The attack occurred just after 9 p.m. at the Foothill Transit bus stop at Azusa Avenue and Gemini Street. The suspect hit the pedestrian, who fell unconscious, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station crime broadcast. A passerby witnessed the attack. The suspect, a Hispanic man, 24 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 150 pounds, in black shorts and a black shirt fled eastbound on Gemini Street. The suspect used an unknown object to hit the pedestrian. It is unclear if the two know each other. The fight occurred at South Sandalwood Avenue and Salais Street November 16. Firefighters and deputies were called to the scene at 8:54 p.m. Two people were stabbed, suffering undisclosed injuries, according to Lt. Thrall of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. A motive for the stabbings was not give. It was unclear if the suspect arrested was directly responsible for the stabbings. Booking information was not readily available. |
