TEMPLE CITY - One person was arrested Wednesday, found hiding in the rear yard of a residence after he crashed into another driver while attempting to flee a deputy.

A deputy on patrol witnessed the suspect driver fleeing the area at high speed. The deputy attempted to catch up to the suspect who then broadsided another vehicle at Rosemead Boulevard and Broadway, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station.

The suspect took off at high speed for no discernible reason other than getting spooked when he saw the deputy, the Sheriff’s Department said.

“It was a car that saw a patrol vehicle and then fled from the location. By the time the deputy came around the corner, the car had already collided down the road,” the Sheriff’s Department said.

The driver that was hit by the suspect complained of neck and back pain. The driver was released at the scene. The suspect also complained of neck and back pain.

It was roughly less than 30 minutes before the suspect was found.
