First responders were sent to a reported gunshot victim in the 5100 block of Halifax Road around 12:37 p.m. The victim was taken to a hospital and was declared dead, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The victim was not described. It is unclear if a suspect has been identified, or arrested. CityWatch Editor TEMPLE CITY - Four people are being hospitalized and three were reportedly killed in a house fire Sunday afternoon. Firefighters on scene found three deceased victims in the house, one in a bedroom. The types of injuries to the four people being hospitalized are not publicly known. First responders were sent to the single-story, single-family home in the 6000 block of Saltana Avenue in Temple City around 4:48 p.m. Sunday, October 27. Power lines were compromised near the home. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies are on scene and assisting. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor TEMPLE CITY – A victim was reportedly stabbed in the neck and head during an assault Wednesday night, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
An unknown weapon was used during the assault at the southeast corner of Broadway and Rosemead Boulevard just before 7 p.m. October 19. The suspect, a Latino man, 30 to 40 years old, standing 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a thin build and wearing a white tank top, fled into a waiting red SUV driven by a Latino woman. The SUV was seen being driven south on Rosemead Boulevard. The extent of injuries was not immediately known. It is not immediately clear if the suspect was identified and/or arrested. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor TEMPLE CITY - One male suffered a gunshot wound considered not life-threatening after at least two robbers entered a home and zip-tied two occupants early Sunday morning.
Deputies were called to the home in the 9700 block of Longden Avenue around 4:30 a.m. August 28. Money was taken from the home, according to Lt. Van Hoosen of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. An infant was also inside the home during the robbery, Van Hoosen told SGV CityWatch. Investigators are determining how the suspects entered the home. Descriptions of the suspects were not available. A description of a getaway vehicle was also unavailable. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor TEMPLE CITY - Six people trapped inside at a Temple City strip mall were uninjured after an estimated 50 feet of façade collapsed to the front of some stores Wednesday afternoon.
The six people trapped were freed sometime around 5:30 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Firefighters were dispatched to 9449 Las Tunas Drive around 4:06 p.m. May 25. Firefighters waited until a plan was developed for debris removal to safely evacuate to six people trapped inside, according to a battalion chief with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The victim was found inside a building in the 9100 block of Las Tunas Drive March 29. He was found with at least one gunshot wound to the upper torso. He was declared dead at the scene by firefighters, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The Sheriff’s Information Bureau states authorities were called to the area at 12:19 p.m., but the only dispatch for first responders came at 12:44 p.m. to East Las Tunas Dr and Loma Avenue at 12:44 p.m. The murdered man was described as being in his 30s. It is unclear if investigators have a suspect description, or if a suspect is in custody. Deputies responded to the 9200 block of Pentland Street on a report of domestic violence with a gunshot victim. Deputies discovered a 27-year-old woman suffering multiple gunshot wounds and 28-year-old man suffer a likely self-inflicted wound. Both died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. “Three juveniles, ranging in age from 5 to 11, were removed from the home unharmed upon the deputies’ arrival. The three lived in the home and are believed to be the children of the deceased female victim,” according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in a written statement. The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. It is unclear if investigators have identified a suspect. traffic is apparently blocked near the crime scene and investigators are asking people to avoid the area. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor TEMPLE CITY - The driver of a vintage roadster died when authorities said his unsafe speed caused him to lose control of the car and crash into a pole.
The driver was 33-year-old Temple City man Cameron Blaine Fish, according to Sarah Ardalani, public information officer with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Fish was identified as an off-duty Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy. Crime stringer footage from the scene showed an American flag draped over the body of Fish. Deputies and California Highway Patrol officers were seen saluting the body as it was loaded into a coroner van that was given an escort to the coroner’s office. “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Deputy Cameron Fish. On the early morning of Thursday, September 16, 2021, Deputy Fish was involved in a single-vehicle traffic accident and succumbed to his injuries,” according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in a written statement. Fish was a 12-year veteran with the Sheriff’s Department. He joined the department May 15, 2009 and graduated from the Academy the following September 18. Fish was assigned to Custody Division and Court Services Division. He served with distinction as a Bailiff at Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Fish, was reportedly north on Santa Anita Avenue around 2:10 a.m. when he lost control of his 1965 Cobra 427 roadster just north of Freer Street, according to the California Highway Patrol. “The Cobra roadster veered to the left off the road and onto a center median, striking a raised street sign and a light pole. The impact caused Mr. Doe to be ejected from his vehicle,” according to the CHP in a written statement. Fish’s passenger, identified as Diana Whang, was transported by ground ambulance to County/USC Medical Center with moderate injuries to her head, the CHP said in a written statement. It is not clear if Fish or Whang were wearing their seatbelts, or if alcohol and/or drugs are a factor in this crash. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor TEMPLE CITY – A rollover crash killed one person at the scene and sent another to a trauma center, a Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor said.
The collision was reported at Santa Anita Avenue and Freer Street. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station called firefighters around 2:12 a.m., according to Dispatch Supervisor Michael Pittman of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Initially it was believed that people were trapped in the vehicle, but no one was trapped. The surviving occupant suffered from critical injuries, Pittman told SGV CityWatch. At 2:51 a.m., deputies wanred drivers to avoid Santa Anita Avenue from Daines Drive to Freer Street. It is unclear if the roadway remains closed. Phone calls to the Sheriff’s Temple Station were unanswered. |
