Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor VALINDA - No arrests were made after deputies responded to a call of gunfire, but found no evidence of a shooting Thursday. Deputies detained a subject in a home in the 16600 block of Alwood Street February 28 after receiving a call of three gunshots heard. Deputies received the call around 9:45 a.m., according to Lt. Rick Rector of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The incident eventually turned out to be a neighbor dispute, Rector said.
Deputies surrounded the home. A helicopter assisted deputies as they tried to encourage the occupant out. The occupant seemed very agitated with deputies who spoke to him on the phone. The property owner helped to coax the occupant out to be detained by deputies, according to Sheriff’s radio traffic. The incident ended about one hour later. |
