Witnesses reported that a gunman in a vehicle pulled up to the vigil outside of the 15500 block of Fellowship Street and fired as many as 10 rounds near or at the crowd. There was no one hit and deputies found no objects that were struck, according to Sgt. Torres of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. First responders were sent to the location around 9:19 p.m. Sunday, July 2. The Los Angeles County Fire Department stated that their response to a possible gunshot victim was canceled before engines even arrived on scene. Roughly 15 minutes later, deputies located a vehicle believed tied to the July 2 shooting at Hacienda Boulevard and Francisquito Avenue and detained both occupants, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department radio traffic. At least one of the people was arrested, but Torres did not immediately know the status of the person who was taken into custody. The shooting occurred in the area of Amar Road and Valinda Avenue around 11:30 p.m. January 29. The victim claimed at least one person from an older-model silver Honda Civic opened fire, according Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio traffic. Someone inside the Honda yelled “Puente” before opening fire. The victim was shot once, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio traffic. The Honda Civic was driven north on Valinda Avenue. The shooting was reported to deputies at 9:45 p.m. in the 900 block of West Valinda December 10. Deputies were told a white sedan with tinted windows sped away from the scene after gunfire rang out, according to Sgt. Kneubuhler of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The shooting is likely gang related. The home is a known gang hideout, Kneubuhler said. One woman inside the home was described as being in her 40s. The other is in her 70s, Kneubuhler said. The white sedan sped north on Cabana Avenue. |
