Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor VALINDA - A man was fatally injured by an alleged drive-by shooter Monday night, a Sheriff’s lieutenant said. The shooting occurred in the area of Walnut Avenue and Doublegrove Street just after 9 p.m. November 11. “One male was shot ... and ultimately he succumbed from his injuries,” according to Lt. James Long of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The victim, only described as a 20-year-old male, was shot at or near his home, long said.
It is unclear if a description was obtained for the shooter. A dark-colored four-door sedan was seen speeding away from the shooting, Long said. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau are on scene investigating and although they state there is no known motive for the killing, Long said the shooting is likely gang related. |
