Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor BALDWIN PARK - A pedestrian crossing Amar Road outside a marked crosswalk remains hospitalized Wednesday. A 56-year-old La Puente man was injured after being hit in westbound lanes of Amar Road west of Echelon Tuesday, May 28 just after 9 p.m. The area where the pedestrian crossed is inadequately lit and the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing, according to Sgt. Elizabeth Van Valkenburgh of the California Highway Patrol Baldwin Park Office. The latest update Van Valkenburgh had was from last night, that the pedestrian remains in critical condition due to multiple internal injuries.
The driver, a 20-year-old male, turned west onto Amar Road from northbound Echelon and hit the pedestrian a few hundred feet west of the intersection, Van Valkenburgh said. The driver remained at the scene. Email Newsletter! | Advertise! | Donate! |
